Vivek Gopalan is a rising senior at Yale majoring in Computer Science and Data Science. He spent his past summer at Bloomberg and the previous at Yale, developing machine learning models for Terminal sales analytics and researching program synthesis with Ruzica Piskac's ROSE Group respectively. At school, he was the president of Yale Code4Good, an organization that partners with non-profits & social enterprises to develop software, a contributor to the Yale Politic, and a member of the departmental student advisory committee. He also helps run a blog, interviewing the nation's top academics at proftalk.io. His CS/DS interests include deep learning, databases, mechanism design, and privacy preserving computing. Vivek is an avid college football enthusiast (War Eagle!), a true Seattleite, and a huge sci-fi & fantasy fan (among his favorites are the Hyperion Cantos and the Stormlight Archive). He is really excited to be working at Yugabyte as an 8VC Fellow.
