Having just graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Computer Science and Linguistics, Sam is returning to Berkeley this Fall to start a Master's degree in Computer Science with a focus on programming languages and CS education. At Vercel, Sam worked on improving Turbopack’s chunking algorithm, adding optimizations to CJS code bundled by Turbopack, and performance improvements for Next.js sites. Sam loves hackathons and was a part of the team behind Cal Hacks throughout his time as an undergrad. Away from his computer, Sam enjoys exploring California with friends, trying different public transportation systems, and playing soccer.
